Today on homify we bring you something a little different: a landscape design. The design team at Fournet put their design genius to work to create this beautiful landscape. Timber structures, fences, decks, and paths abound in the lush green garden.

On the most part, the design opts for sharp lines, but it doesn't shy away from a gentle curve here and there. The result is a design that masterfully marries the man-made and the natural. Let's take a look…

Under the pergola

Located in Cheoin-gu, Yongin, South Korea, the home and garden take full vantage of the soaring skyscraper vista beyond.

The pergola structure frames the view in this shot and offers a covered area for those wet and humid summers.

The path

The landscaping favours an asymmetric layout; the path curves at the corner, the timber planks are interrupted with a line of planks running at a tangent to the primary layout, and stone pavers are dotted at irregular intervals.

It marries the linearity and precision of the manmade with the organic irregularity of the natural.

Climbers

Here, a timber structure with a trapezoid profile acts as both garden sculpture and a base for the climbing plants to grow up.

Organic and irregular

Wild flowers and other low-lying plants line the garden edge, hemming it in and providing a barrier that mediates the home from the outside world.

The stone pavers lead towards the pergola structure which is constructed entirely of timber. An inbuilt seat is camouflaged in the array of warm natural timber.

Timber on timber

A close-up gives up a better look at the timber. The structure features timber planks that are spaced out at a regular interval, while the seat and storage compartment are completely enclosed.

The door to the storage unit flips the timber planks onto a diagonal, creating a fun and playful change.

The fence revisited

Before we end our meander through this lovely landscape, let's take a look at the boundary fence adjacent the pergola. It assumes the same trapezoidal profile that we saw earlier by the climbing plants. The 3-dimensional nature of the fence gives it depth and a solidity we don't usually see in simple fences. It's strong and elegant.
