This house is a 198m2 single-family house built in Ilsan, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea.

It is planned on the site located at the very beginning of the single-family housing complex.

The first brick house planned to be built in the housing complex was given priority in designing the building to show its architectural direction and connectivity. In addition, the spatial composition of the designs that showed the client's lifestyle and the natural and internal relationships were the main goals of the design.

Ilsan brick houses are constructed of pure and ideal box-type masses.

The view was adjusted and the copper lines reorganized through an array of three volumes, taking into account the proper placement of the internal space and site location.

Ilsan brick houses can be explained by adding or subtracting the interpretation of the solid/void relationship. On the one hand, you can see that a series of small volumes are connected (added), on the other hand, you can see that two L-shaped volumes are removed (subtracted) from a large volume in a complete box. This has created a rhythmic interrelationship between interior spaces and gardens.

The front window, like the one installed alongside the copper line, provides an impressive scene in the outside landscape through ambiguity in the location.

By making the height of the room floor almost no difference from the ground, it is a feeling that the boundary between the inside and the outside is obscured by applying the transparent glass, and the earth is drawn into the house deeply. There are four types of brick houses.

First, it will be used to build a residence space that breathes with the earth and communicates with the landscape, and the natural connection between the inside and outside.

The second is a monumental form consisting of three masses, a repetitive combination of three geometrical masses, and the spatial sequence in which it is made follows the form. In addition, the mass shown on the outside shows the completion of the ideal form.

Fourth, the important part of the rhythmic copper-copper line is the openness (considering the position of the window) seen on the move. Finally, natural cold. For the efficient functioning of the heating, intentional consideration was given to the south and southeast of the site. This will increase the quality of the residents' environment by bringing in or exporting a richer amount of sunshine as the season changes.
