Kindergarten ‘Unmun’
date: 2006
location: Sa-dong, Gyeongsan City
A center of kindergarten is a court yard facing the public park. Class rooms are linked around the court yard of kindergarten as like spread fingers toward the city. And there are spatial gabs between the class rooms which connect visually hall-piazza- and city. A basement-commercial facility- which is faced with street level becomes a stylobate of total volume and the 1st floor and 2nd floor are located on the stylobate. External facing of the 1st and 2nd floors is made for flat and long bricks -40mm×230mm-. This brick material makes close relationship with stylobate made from clay-slate stone of public park behind the kindergarten and this materiality and relationship give a stimulus to the drab surrounding.
