조형적질서와 유기적 생명감이 가득한 곳이다.
우선 공간은 정직한 매스, 담백한 선으로 꽉 짜인 질서를 갖는다. 설명은 제거되고 본질적인 형으로 채워진다.
그러면서 밀도 높은 공간이 된다. 작은 공간을 채우는 수직, 수평의 구성은 공간이 건강한 구조적 힘을 갖게 한다.
수직, 수평으로 연결되어 순환하는 선과 면의 변주 덕분에, 공간의 밀도는 강해진다.
이 밀도 높은 공간이 작지만 넓은 공간으로 보이는 건 그 속에 틈이 거하기 때문이다.
1층과 3층을 아우르며 크게 뚫린 창, 가로로 혹은 세로로 벌어진 슬릿, 주욱 뻗어 오르다 꺽이고 또다시 오르는 계단과 같은 ‘틈’이 존재한다.
그 틈이 있어 공간의 경계는 허술해진다. 밖과 안은 서로를 가로지르며 접속한다.
공간 안에선 예전의 집의 흔적들. 혜화동의 여염집 그리고 옛 도성이 바라다 보인다.
이 공간에서 뿜어져 나오는 생명감과 긴장은 그런 것 일 터이다.
‘가벼이 허공중에 떠있는 물고기 같은것.’ 그래서 이 공간은 ‘물고기 같은 집’이다.
살아 퍼덕이는 날것의 에너지로 가득한 공간, 다산의 존재라는 물고기처럼 창조의 에너지로 꿈틀되는 공간, 마르지 않는 금빛 물속에 산다는 물고기 하나 걸린, 생성의 기운으로 가득한 공간이다.
It is a place full of formative order and organic vitality. First, the space has an well formed order
with honest mass and simple lines. The explanation is eliminated and is filled with essential
forms. Also,it becomes a space with high density. The horizontal and vertical organization filling
the small space allows the space to have a healthy structural power. Because of the variation
of lines and surfaces circulating by being connected horizontally and vertically,the density of the
space is strengthened. Although this high-density space is small, it seems like a large space
because it has crevices inside. It has ‘crevices’ such as wide windows merging first floor and
third floor, slits open horizontally or vertically, and stairs bent after ascending straight and then
ascending again. Because of these crevices, the boundary of the space becomes loose. The
interior and exterior are connected by crossing each other. Inside the space, the remains of old
houses,middle-class home sat Hewha-dong, and old capital city is seen.The vitality and tension
bursting from this space is probably like the ‘fish lightly floating in the empty sky’.Thus,this space
is‘a house like a fish’.Itis a space full of energy like that of a flying one fluttering itswings,a space
wiggling with the energy of creation like fish which is a fertile being, and a space full of creation
of a place with a fish allegedly living in an un-drying gold-color water.
