Adding approximately 30% of floor area to the house, this unique side extension brought light back into the property and opened the living space out properly onto the small courtyard garden. Designed by Millar Howard Workshop, the extension is built in timber frame and clad in douglas fir. It consists of a contemporary white kitchen and a dining room on the ground floor and a bedroom/office on the first floor. Bespoke bi-fold doors and windows open up the home and give the feeling of space, so much needed in the dense urban area. A fantastic living green roof reduces storm water run off, overheat in summer and provides for habitat.
