부천의 신 주거단지이다.

주위의 주택들이 너무 복잡하여서 단순하게 만들었다.

정면은 사각형으로하고 재료는 노출콘크리트 하나로 하였다.

도로쪽에 마당을 놓으면 사생활침해의 우려가 있어 남쪽도로면에는 주방과 창고를 배치하여 차단하고

중정건너 북쪽에 거실과 침실을 두어 일반적인 배치와는 반대가 되었다.

중정으로 인하여 북쪽 거실과 침실에 햇볕이 잘 들게 되었다.

1층에 잔디마당과 목재데크마당, 북쪽에 설치한 거실앞에 중정을 두었다.

2층의 안방과 아이들방 사이를 데크마당으로 분리하였다.

옥상에도 부분적으로 데크마당을 두어 전체적으로 5개의 마당이 생겼다.

45평 집의 조그만 거실이 양쪽 외부공간으로 확장된다.

2개의 계단을 두어 전체의 동선이 끊이지 않게 하였다.

조그맣고 단순한 집에 수많은 변화가 생겼다.

Jakdong House is located in a new housing estate in Bucheon (Gyeonggi-do, South Korea)

It is intended to be simple and clean as opposed to heterogeneous characteristics of the surrounding houses

The front facade forms rectangular with exposed concrete.

Its garden is situated at the centre of the house for privacy. Kitchen and storage, located south to the garden, screen the road and keep privacy, whereas living area and bedrooms sit north of the property, which is different from usual house arrangement in Korea. In spite of their northern position, the living area and bedrooms receives abundant natural sunlight from the garden.

There are five outdoor spaces in the house. On the ground floor are grassed garden, timber deck garden, and courtyard in front of the living area. The timber decking terrace on the first floor separates the master bedroom and children’s bedrooms. Also there is a timber decking area on the roof.

Its small living area is visually extended laterally to the outdoor spaces.

Two staircases contribute to the continuous circulation of the house.

It is a small and simple house with varied character.
