Old H villa in Seoul is renovated into Sloped-shaped residence.

This Project is located in typical residential unit on 3rd floor of a 25 year old Korean apartment in Seoul. The interior of a small apartment is redesigned to create a flexible live-work space for a family in Seoul. The reconfigured flat comprised an living area, an en-suite master bedroom, a small kids room, a small working space and a bathroom. The architect removed original decorated walls and moldings, replacing them with simple white walls that have openings for entrance. The project is named ‘ Capture of Life’. The general living room has big television and comfortable sofa in Korea. Owner want to change their lifestyle focused on Television to books. So, the main wall of living room is filled with a bookshelf and a long bench.  The bookself strectched up through the extended ceiling height of the apartment. An original concrete wall in the 25-year-old flat has been kept and pained and bricks between existed wall and new ceiling have also been left exposed and white pained.. All the surfaces of wall is pained wall and tiled wall to keep the pace bright and clean. And furnitures are made with ash and the only coloured walls are entrance door,  wall in bathroom and ceiling of balcony. The apartment has white walls and pale wooden floors and fitting with white tiles. New white storage closets have been added along the walls and match up with the white wall. The idea was to maximise the sense of spave as well as keeping a simple and efficient layout.. The architect kept to a simple palette of wooden flooring with white walls and fittings, allowing the owner to add colour by displaying books and other collected items.

The main wish was to have storage spaces and to maximise the limited floor plan.  Sloping ceiling sliding doors The architect started to diet an existed flat that means to delete decorated factors as like molding of doors and walls and even pull of cabinets. And long cabinets runs frome one end of narrow hallway to kichen as like walls. The white built-in storage cabinets are intended to create the illusio of greater space. And also, the height of ceiling changed from 2.3m to 3.5m. Architect chose the white colour to blur the prifile of the space and make the interior as minimal as possible. As living in here, the colour is balanced with colorful living objects including kids toys.
